Initiatives
And so what do you actually do? And how do your events and initiatives work? We put all of this on one page for you here. Well, excerpts anyhow, as listing everything here would break our website...
HOW OUR PROJECTS WORK: EXAMPLE COMICSLAM
CONTACT
Johannes came to our Diary Reading and thought to himself: Why not do that with comics and do something for a good cause? No sooner had he finished that thought and bang – he emailed us. Our team was smitten with the idea, of course, and invited him to a meeting.
GETTING IN TOUCH AND CONNECTING
We discussed the idea over coffee. We tweaked and fiddled with the concept a bit, and mulled over who else we could involve: locations, artists and other associations to make the event accessible to as many people as possible. And since Johannes draws comics himself, he naturally knows enough colleagues who are also interested. Also: What should the event look like? Who is our target group, and how and where can we best reach them? How do we want to collect donations? What do we want to use them for?
DIVIDING UP JOBS
After agreeing on a suitable communication channel, we started planning. Which days are good, which location is best, and which artists are a good fit, have the time and want to get involved? To do this, it was super important to agree in advance who is responsible for what, who takes care of what by when (curation, graphics, social media, thisthatandtheother). In addition, the team needed to discuss when other events are taking place and who could support us when, how and where. We also tapped into our network of helpers to see who else wanted to help out.
THE EVENT
The organisation and planning was in full swing, everyone was in the loop thanks to social media and posters, and then finally, the day of the event is here – woohooo! After setting up and checking the tech, we let everyone in, had the slam itself, and then finally, of course, dismantled and returned everything we needed to our office. At the clubkinder Comicslam, four artists present their comics, interspersed with short battles in which they draw for a limited time on a specific topic. The guests themselves get creative and draw their personal comic heroes, for which there are a few small prizes at the end.
EFFECT
Afterwards, we sit down and reflect: What went well, what can we improve? How many people did we reach, how many were there? How much money did we raise? We record all of this to make the impact of the campaign measurable – at least in part. It is not that easy to measure the actual impact of all our events, because feelings, emotions and emerging connections at any given time are difficult to measure. We have been doing our Comiclsam for eight years now, and in that time, we have reached a new target group, given many people a great time, donated a lot of money to various organisations, launched our first Kids Edition this year and further expanded our network of artists.
clubkinder sk8_Art
In 2021, we worked with the Pfund & Dollar collective to create our clubkinder sk8_Art exhibition at Oberhafen. It was an amazing event with over 50 skateboard decks created by street artists, a four-day programme of DJ sets, drinks and an auction of the artworks. With the proceeds, we were able to organise a Skate & Create workshop for kids, where they designed their own decks together with some of the artists and were taught how to skate by Skateboard e.V. Of course, everyone was allowed to take their deck home.
clubkinder KlangVisite
With our ‘clubkinder KlangVisite’ in 2020 and 2021, we brought a change of pace, some colourful thoughts and some dancing feet to senior citizens and guests. We just tapped into our ever-growing pool of bands and artists and organised small performances in various institutions in Hamburg. This was also a great chance for our friends in the cultural scene – more specifically, in the music scene – as they received a fair fee and so could make up for the many cancelled concerts during the lockdowns.

clubkinder schools
Just to provide a full picture, we are also listing our schools here. However, as this project functions within a large network and is sort of a small cosmos in itself, you can find all the information at a glance HERE.
OUR PARTNERS
As you can see, we've got a lot going on, but we can't show everything here. Up until 2024, we organised events for our donation-based club Unterm Strich for almost 10 years. We are involved in the altonale, Dockville and Millerntor Gallery festivals with various projects almost every year, we enjoy working with Aktivoli Landesnetzwerk and pixie lemon, and we are also co-partners at GoBanyo. And because we love them, here are a few logos for you to look at.
