Since 2019, we've also been partnering with schools to connect students with social internships at local non-profits. We don’t do this alone – we work alongside a broad network of organizations to make it happen.
OUR WORK IN HAMBURG SCHOOLS
We believe it is important to support pupils in developing their social skills and to empower them. And what better place to do that than in an organization that is actively promoting social change? However, schools are often overwhelmed with their workload and may not be aware of the many associations in Hamburg. Where can they find these organizations? Where can students find suitable internships? That’s where we step in! We support schools – but above all, we support students – with our network and expertise. Our goal is to support young people in finding opportunities and introduce them to the world of diverse collaboration. So go ahead – unleash your inner volunteer!
VOLUNTEER AGENCIES
Volunteer agencies are indispensable. They know where associations are struggling, where interns are urgently needed and where young people in particular can gain great insights. Deeply connected to Hamburg's association landscape, they identify the best volunteer opportunities for students.
ORGANIZATIONS
Organizations are, among other things, the associations that take on students for their social internships. For students, however, it is often challenging to find a good match and associations might lack resources to provide good support for an internship. But of course they all welcome newcomers. Also various organisations provide coaching and support, and actually organise the whole thing. Examples of this are the SeniorTrainerIn, the Seniorenbüro and the University of Hamburg.
SCHOOLS
Schools want to enable students to get into social internships because they recognize the importance of social skills. These internships also help students explore potential career paths – and right now, we need more people considering careers in the social sector. However, with schools already juggling so much, we’re here to help by streamlining the process and making it easier for everyone involved.

AS A SCHOOL
You are looking for organisations where your students can get involved in social projects, gain experience, and complete their social internship? But you don't know which of them are located in your neighbourhood and also whether they even accept students? Send us an email! Students can choose from a wide range of social institutions. We support the process, are available to answer questions for all parties involved and, after they complete their internship, issue a certificate for your students' next application. Does this mean additional effort for you? Quite the opposite! We take work off your hands and make it easier for you.
AS A VOLUNTEER AGENCY
Do you want to inspire young people to volunteer and build connections in your local community? We help bring together what belongs together. We will support you in working together with students and schools. And what do you have to do? Check with your network of organisations in advance to see if they are open to students as volunteers and if they have adequate resources. It is important to us that we work together in our network and use these structures together. Knowledge sharing is fun! Feel free to contact us if you are interested in working with our network.
AS AN ORGANIZATION
You are looking for young people who would like to support you and your organization? Our partner schools are home to many motivated students who would like to get involved with you through a social internship! Go ahead and contact your local volunteer agency – perhaps we are already working with them – or send us an email. And if we take interns, what do we have to do?
